Operated by the Algeciras Port Authority.
It is the most southerly port in Europe, just 16.5 km from the African continent.
Schengen port: Tarifa Port is qualified as a transit port. This port is not used commercially, being allowed only if the boat is damaged, needs help being at risk or due to bad weather.
It has a total quay length of 1,572 meters, with draughts from -3 to -8 meters, intended for passenger vessels, fishing and recreational use.

The passenger terminal building occupies a 2,116m2 surface area distributed over two floors: ticket sales offices, a cafeteria and the shipping-line check-in areas are located on the ground floor, along with institutional offices, and the top floor is likewise occupied by institutional offices.
