Combustion of natural gas and steam to generate electricity.
This power plant, located on the left bank of the river Guadarranque, opened on July 3, 2002. The generation technology of combined cycle uses combustion of natural gas (gas turbine) and steam produced by the exhaust gases (boiler recovery and steam turbine) to generate electricity. These two processes work in a complementary manner, making it possible to obtain yields of about 60%, since electricity is generated in two steps with a single source of energy, and reduces the environmental impact. This group has an installed power of 400 MW.
Project developed in the framework of Complementary Actions for Initiation. Driven by the Chamber of Commerce of Campo de Gibraltar and funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
